The Legacy of Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh Ji

In the early 20th century, Maharajadhiraj of Jodhpur, Marwar- Sir Ajit Singh Ji (1907-1978) commissioned the construction of this stunning edifice as a part of his residence, Ajit Bhawan. The palace was envisioned with the embodiment, grandeur and heritage of the Rathore Dynasty that ruled over the Marwar region of Rajasthan.

Architectural Grandeur

Under the skilled guidance of British architect Sir Henry Lanchester, construction commenced in 1927. The architectural splendour of Ranbanka Palace draws inspiration from both Rajput and Victorian styles, resulting in a seamless blend of regal opulence with its elaborate carvings, intricate jalis, and delicate filigree work that adorn the two-storied red-sandstone façade.

A Palace of People & Royal Gatherings

Sir Ajit Singh Ji was known for his fairness: dignitaries and local people flocked to this palace for an audience with the Maharajadhiraj to discuss key concerns in the main courtyard of the Ranbanka Palace.
